Bethany Counseling Ministry

Bethany Counseling Ministry was established in 1982 as an extension of the healing ministry of Bethany Children’s Home in Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania. The Ministry services include supervision for social work, pastoral counseling, and marriage and family therapy interns, as well as many successful interventions with kids and their families. With office space provided by 40 churches in three conferences, Bethany Counseling Ministry is able to extend its services to over 35 counties. Since its inception in 1982, the Ministry has:
  • provided therapeutic services to over 14,000 children
  • completed over 55,000 family counseling sessions
  • offered more than 1,000 educational seminars
  • conducted more than 3,000 professional consultations
  • and provided therapeutic services to over 1,000 clergy and their families
Bethany Counseling Ministry is founded on the belief that what happens to individuals - children, youth or adult - affects our whole family. What happens in a family has an impact on all the members. Therefore, they are committed to a holistic approach that considers significant relationships in the treatment process, even though individual family member may be the only one in the sessions. Whether families, couples or individuals are seen in counseling sessions, they treat concerns such as:
  • anxiety
  • blended families
  • child/adolescent adjustment problems
  • chronic illness
  • depression
  • enhancing relationships
  • gender issues
  • grief
  • intimacy issues
  • life changes
  • marital/family conflict
  • premarital concerns
  • school problems
  • spiritual issues
  • stress management
  • recovery of life’s meaning and purpose
