Bethany Children’s Home offers competitive wages and excellent benefits. Full-time employees are eligible to receive the following:

Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for employment at Bethany, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Be able to apply for and receive Child Abuse, State Police and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances
  • Be able to certify fitness for duty by a physician no more than 30 days prior to employment and every two years thereafter
  • Be able to comply with all physical training requirements
  • Have a valid drivers’ license with 3-year clear driving history

Weekend Houseparent Couples or Individual –  Sign-on Bonus!

We are also seeking couples or individuals to be Weekend Houseparents. Weekend Houseparents work full-time Friday evening through Monday, and enjoy an excellent benefits package, including the benefits for full-time employees as described above, and a furnished, private on-campus apartment with all utilities, household items and meals provided while on duty.

In addition to the minimum requirements described above, candidates should be mature, responsible individuals with a sense of mission to help children in need. We are offering a sign-on bonus of $2,500 (half after 90 days and the remainder is paid after six months) to couples and an additional longevity bonus of $5,000 per couple after three (3) years of successful employment.

Weekday Houseparent Couples – Sign-on Bonus!

If you believe today’s children are tomorrow’s future, this may be the opportunity you’ve been looking for. We are seeking couples to be Weekday Houseparents. The Houseparent position is both challenging and rewarding as we help our residents achieve their dreams of a brighter future through the use of structured programming and clinical support. Houseparents are responsible for providing compassion, discipline and daily supervision to the children of Bethany Home.

Weekday Houseparents work full-time Monday through Friday, averaging 50 to 60 hours per week, and enjoy an excellent benefits package. In addition to the benefits for full-time employees as described above, Weekday Houseparents are provided with an unfurnished off-campus apartment with all utilities, a furnished, private on-campus apartment with all utilities and on-duty meals.

Case Manager

Bethany is seeking a Case Manager to coordinate case management and family reunification services. The Case Manager will be responsible for assessing the needs of each child in care, developing an Individual Service Plan, documenting the provision for services in each child’s case file and acting as liaison between youth and placement family, child advocates, and other involved agencies. If you have a passion for helping children in need we would love to hear from you. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule with some evenings and meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must have either:
  • Bachelor’s degree in the behavioral sciences, human services or social services fields and a minimum of one year of case management experience; OR
  • Associate’s degree plus a minimum of three years of case management experience.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have excellent organizational and computer skills.

Cottage Supervisor

Bethany has immediate openings for full-time Cottage Supervisors. The Cottage Supervisor is responsible for cottage operations and and mentors our cottage staff. Our cottage staff are responsible for providing guidance, supervision and compassion while assisting our youth with emotional and behavioral interventions in a variety of settings. The Cottage Supervisor works with the treatment team to help our youth achieve their goals.

The Cottage Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Trains and provides ongoing mentoring to Cottage Support Staff and Houseparents.
  • Seeks or provides coverage for shift call-offs.
  • Conducts team and individual supervisions in accordance with Clinician and Director.
  • Maintains accurate recordkeeping and submits timely approvals for staff benefit time and payroll records.
  • Ensures Cottage Support Staff and Houseparents are current on mandated and required trainings.

Candidates must be willing to work a flexible day and evening schedule with rotating weekends.

Cottage Support Staff – 2nd shift

Bethany has immediate openings for full-time positions working directly with teenage youth. Our Support Staff are responsible for providing therapeutic guidance, supervision and compassion while assisting our adolescents with emotional and behavioral interventions in a variety of settings. Support Staff work with the treatment team to help our youth achieve their treatment plan goals.

Full-time positions are available between the hours of 2:30 pm and 10:30 pm. Rotating weekend availability is required.

If you love working one-on-one with at-risk adolescents in a home-like environment, we would love to hear from you. Preferably, candidates have at least one year of experience working with adolescents in placement as a therapeutic support staff, BSC or similar role.

Part-Time Tutor 

Bethany is seeking a part-time tutor to facilitate tutoring services and academic enrichment to our residents in the Haas Learning Center. Prior experience in secondary teaching or as a classroom assistant is required. Candidates should have academic strength in all core content areas, especially Math and Science, and meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in education. -OR-
  • An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college, with experience in the classroom as an educational aide.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have excellent computer skills.
  • Needs valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License with clean 3-year driving history.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must have health assessment certified by a physician no more than 30 days prior to commencing employment and renewed every two years.
  • Must provide current PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History and FBI Fingerprinting clearances within 30 days of commencing employment.
