Every Wednesday during the summer our Bethany community gathers at the pool and pavilion for a special meal and activity. This has been a tradition at Bethany for many years and our campus community looks forward to each Wednesday Night of the summer.
The Recreation department organizes and plans several special activities for Wednesday nights. Some of the favorites include “Fiesta Night,” “Carnival Night,” and “Italian Night.” These activities are a great opportunity for our community to bond while playing silly games and working together as a cottage or team to win competitions and prizes.
The summer kicks off with our annual softball game and cookout by the pool, setting the tone for a fun and summer. Our annual “Gondola Boat Race” on Italian Night has been a standing tradition at Bethany at the end of the summer. Cottages work for several weeks to build a boat out of cardboard and other materials to race in the pool. These activities serve to build comradery and pride throughout the cottages and campus.
Our meals for Wednesday nights are either prepared by the Bethany kitchen team, enjoyed potluck style with each cottage contributing a dish, or sponsored by our church supporters, donors, or committees. One of our community’s favorites includes a meal catered by Moe’s Southwestern Grill on Fiesta Night!
If you would like to sponsor a fun filled Wednesday night activity contact our Development Office at 610-589-6828.
