Bethany Children’s Home is Sanctuary® Certified and follows
the Sanctuary model of trauma-informed care in our Henning Center
Shelter Care Program. This program provides licensed, 24-hour
emergency placement for youth ages 10-18 who are identified as in
need of a stable environment while a more permanent plan for their
care is developed. This is a co-ed facility. Services include:

Intake health screening

Health oversight and referral

Psychiatric services on site

Weekly sibling and family visits available on site

Sibling placement together, plus sibling counseling

Music therapy facilitated by board-certified music therapists

Art and crafts facilitated by art education instructor

Therapeutic recreation supervised by a Certified Recreation Specialist

Daily life skills training for all youth through cottage living

Immediate school placement in alternative education programming

Bethany Education Coordinator located on Conrad Weiser School District grounds, responsible solely for Bethany youth

Spiritual services, including character and moral development

24-hour awake child care staff

On-site social services staff

Off-campus educational field trips

Use of outside groups for education on topics such as drug and alcohol prevention, pregnancy prevention and maintaining healthy relationships
The Henning Center has private visiting rooms, recreation rooms, dining and
living areas, and sleeping areas. Campus facilities for use include an in-ground pool,
full gymnasium with fitness center, multi-purpose room, racquetball courts, basketball, volleyball-
tennis courts, low ropes course, hiking trails, fishing pond, church, softball field,
meditation garden, infirmary and working farm. There are on-duty directors on site 24
hours a day.
