Bethany Children’s Home proudly celebrated the grand opening of our new outdoor basketball court with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 15. Donors, community supporters, local officials, board members, and team members gathered to mark the completion of this exciting addition to campus.

The ceremony was emceed by Dallan Yoh of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) and featured remarks from community leaders, including Karen Groh of the Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce, Berks County Commissioners Dante Santoni and Christian Leinbach, State Representative Eric Weaknecht, and representatives from the offices of Senator Chris Gebhard and Congressman Dan Meuser. also joined the celebration.

Several tried their hand at a ceremonial first basket, making it a fun afternoon.

The new court provides Bethany youth with a safe, welcoming space to stay active, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and simply enjoy being kids. The project was made possible through the generosity of donors and community partners, with special thanks to Lancaster Asphalt Systems, Inc. for its outstanding craftsmanship.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us despite the summer heat to celebrate this meaningful milestone and invest in brighter futures for the youth we serve.
